The Washington, DC International Film Festival
April 15-25

Join the cast of volunteers for Filmfest DC: The Washington, DC International Film Festival, runs from April 15-25, 2010! Last year, 25,000 people flocked to their screens to make it the largest film festival in Washington, DC. This year, they are celebrating their 24th year of bringing the best of world cinema and American independent film to the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Volunteers are needed to staff movie theaters and escort guests on weekday evenings and weekend afternoons/evenings. Most shifts are 5-6 hours. Volunteers who work two shifts will receive free admission to a regular screening of their choice plus the closing night film and party. Casting a non-union music video for PBS Stevesongs. Looking for Asian and Hispanic boys and girls, ages 5-8, with dancing experience. The audition is on Monday 3/22 in Baltimore, and the shoot would take place in the DC area in late April/early May. Audio Engineer Crime and Punishment

AUDIO ENGINEER NEEDED

An independent production is looking for an audio engineer to do field recording for two (2) days, March 13th and March 14th (this upcoming weekend).

There is a $150 stipend and food will be provided.

The film is an adaptation of a scene from Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment".

The filming will occur in downtown DC at a five-star hotel. Shooting begins at 7am and lasts until 6pm.

The microphones are Sennheiser ME-66s, a Shure field mixer, and a boom pole. The audio will be input directly into the camera. Experience with a field mixer is a must.

Young visionaries let their voices be heard at Cinema/Chicago’s CineYouth Festival. Celebrating its sixth year in 2010, the CineYouth festival showcases and celebrates filmmakers 20 years old and younger.

During the three day Festival, CineYouth provides young filmmakers the opportunity to attend numerous workshops (past workshops include: Screenwriting 101, Bach or Beyonce – Soundtracking Your Film, Am I Gonna Get Sued for This?, Final Cut Editing), film school panels and discussions, and access to industry professionals, all at Columbia College Chicago, the country’s biggest film school.

CineYouth brings filmmakers of all ages and from around the country together to share their work, learn together, and be inspired by each other.
