Virginia Production Alliance Needs You!
For the past two years, the VPA has been working to unite Virginia's production community by providing services and events to support those working in film, video, audio and new media. The group has made great strides, having hosted a Virginia film screening series, the prestigious Association of Independent Commercial Producers show and a series of workshops and seminars on numerous topics including HGTV, screenwriting, copyrights, lighting, legal aspects of the industry, acting and producing to name just a few. The Hampton Roads chapter recently launched a highly innovative internship initiative that brought together the academic, production and advertising communities in the area. In Richmond, the group has been developing partnerships with the numerous industry groups including the James River Film Festival, Screenwriters Forum and Richmond Ad Club.

In addition, the VPA has been the voice of the industry for the General Assembly, having worked hard to lobby for legislation that will benefit the media production.

If you're interested in becoming more involved in the Richmond chapter, or want more information, drop by a monthly meeting. They're held at ArtWorks, 3rd and Hull Street in Richmond.   You can also email the VPA President at Terry.stroud@lobe.com.  For information about the Hampton Roads Chapter, email Marty Terry at martyte@cs.com.  To visit the VPA website, go to www.filmva.com.
