All are invited to join WIFVNE for an intimate conversation with screenwriter and producer Alex Convery on Thursday, August 22nd, at 7 PM EST on Zoom. Convery is best known for writing the screenplay for the feature film AIR, directed by Ben Affleck, who also appears in the film opposite stars Matt Damon, Viola Davis, and Jason Bateman. AIR follows the history of sports marketing executive Sonny Vaccaro and how he led Nike in its pursuit of the greatest athlete in the history of basketball, Michael Jordan.

Alex Convery made an international name for himself with his debut screenplay for the Ben Affleck-directed AIR. He’s been featured on the annual Hollywood Blacklist three times and was named one of Variety’s ten screenwriters to watch in 2022. Originally from Chicago, Alex studied screenwriting at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.
