Richmond – James River Film Festival – March 19-23 – Free/Fee

The James River Film Festival is March 19-23, 2025, at venues throughout Richmond, Virginia. The celebrated festival, in its 31st year, is put on by The James River Film Society (JRFS), a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to the art of film and film as art.

This year’s festival line-up includes notable projects and guests, including a screening of “The Love Witch”, a live, premiere scoring performance from Gary Lucas alongside a screening of the 1932 film FREAKS w/The Earles, and many more.

Featured projects from Virginia filmmakers include:

GEORGIA O’KEEFE: THE BRIGHTNESS OF LIGHT from Virginia-based director Paul Wagner (Wednesday, March 19, 6:30 PM, VMFA, $8)

ALL FORWARD! from Virginia-based director Justin Black  (Sunday, March 23, 6 PM, Shop Two Three, FREE)
