Charlottesville – Casting call for student short film – February 2025 – Unpaid

Student short film “Room to Wait.”

Synopsis: A woman and her husband’s male affair partner meet in a hospital waiting room after a serious accident, they confront one another and their loneliness in crisis.

Gina: *CASTED* Female 35-45. A polished woman in her 40s. Gina is a complicated, bitter woman. Recently separated from her husband, Gina is grappling with his twenty years of deception, and now the possibility of losing him. This performance will be subtle and gripping, a strong actress is required.

Vihaan: Male 20-30. A young man in his mid-20s, well groomed. Character was imagined as Pakistani, but that can change depending on who is cast. Vihaan is injured, lonely, and scared for his partner and processing the guilt he feels. A subtle, powerful performance of vulnerability, including a crying scene, is required.

Extras: Extras needed to play doctors, nurses, and people in the waiting room. Non-speaking roles. Any age, any ethnicity. Get some experience and free food!

– Shooting in late February or early March in Charlottesville, 2-3 days. Dates TBD as we are securing the location.
– Food and video reel footage will provided to actors as compensation.
– Film to be submitted to festivals.
