ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Open Road Film Festival in collaboration with Valley Place Arts Collaborative is in its third year celebrating the art of the short (under 20 minutes) in general and local DMV filmmakers in particular with cash prizes for our local DMV filmmakers.

Winner: $2,000
2nd place: $1,000
3rd Place: $500

DETAILS
This is a three day event consisting of two in person screenings and one virtual screening. It will take place May 10 – 12 of 2025.

The first day of the festival is dedicated to a day of “COVFEFE”: films that speak to our present moment. The second day celebrates filmmakers local to the DMV for our “Anacostia Shorts” contest as well as highlighting shorts from both national and international contributors.

Non DMV filmmakers, will not receive a cash prize but will be considered in competition for our two honorary awards:
BEST OF THE FEST – a juried award.
AUDIENCE FAVORITE determined by audience ballot.

Prizes will be awarded on the 11th.
