We are looking for Teens and Young Adults interested in being a part of a very important short film/student film, “The Silent Crisis”, which will take place in Newport News, Virginia.
About the Film:
The Silent Crisis is a socially impactful and emotionally gripping short film that addresses the systemic neglect faced by Black families when their children go missing. The story follows Marcus and Aisha Brooks, two parents desperately searching for their missing teenage son, Elijah. Their journey highlights the stark disparities in media coverage and law enforcement response based on race. This film is more than entertainment; it is a call to action for equity, awareness, and compassion when children of color go missing.
Filming will start 04/26/2025 and end 5/1/202
The roles we are still looking to cast for are:
1. ELIJAH BROOKS, African-American, Male, 15-17 years old, athletic.
2. JASMINE BROOKS, African-American, Female, 14-16 years old, sister to Elijah Brooks. Outspoken but passionate.
3. TWO MALE TEENS, athletic, teammates of Elijah Brooks, 14-17 years old (race unimportant)
4. TIFFANY STRICKLAND, Podcaster, AA/Latino/Asian, 22-30 years old
5. 2 ADULT REPORTER ROLES, male and female) Latino/Asian/Caucasian, 18-30 years old.
6. NEWS PRODUCER, Male, Latino/Caucasian, 20-30 years old
7. MR. BROOKS’ BESTFRIEND, Male, Latino/African-American, 35-50 years old
