We are thrilled to announce the 804 Film Festival, Taking place from 1pm-5pm on July 6th at the historic Byrd Theater.

This one-of-a-kind event aims to celebrate and showcase a diverse array of independent films created by young local filmmakers from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) students, alumni, and local Richmond Creatives.

The festival will feature a curated selection of short films ranging from indie flicks to experimental shorts. Over ten different short films ranging from all different genres on the big screen for one day only. These films are being submitted to festivals around the country so you won’t be able to watch them online anywhere! In addition to the screenings, attendees will enjoy captivating musical performances from local artist like, Ethab & Noghead.

Jacob Skammer, a notable figure in the Richmond creative community will be a key speaker at the event. His dedication to nurturing and promoting local talent has been instrumental in bringing this festival to life.  “We are excited to provide a platform for young filmmakers to showcase their work and connect with the community.” Said Jacob Skammer. “The 804 Film Festival is a celebrating of creativity, diversity, and the rich talent pool we have in Richmond.”

The festival promises to be an inspiring and entertaining experience for film enthusiasts, students, and supporters of the arts. It aims to foster a sense of community and encourage the growth of independent filmmaking in the region.
