Casting for VCUArts Student Thesis film “Palm Sunday” – Seeking Actors local to Richmond and/or Charles City County, Virginia. Shooting 1-2 days in Richmond, Charles City (role dependent). All roles paid.

Storyline: A romantic drama that follows a reclusive housekeeper with an addiction to sugar. Through several failed attempts to earn extra money for a root canal, she becomes engrossed in the lives of her small town employers and their wedding preparations for a mysterious bride-to-be.

Seeking the following:

[ANDRE] 19-25, any ethnicity man. Smooth and sweet-talking, drawn to STAR’s restless, unpredictable energy, but is left cold, bitter, and resentful by their breakup. ANDRE works as a dental hygienist–close physical contact will be kept to a minimum, but applicants should be reasonably comfortable with it.

[MRS. CRAWLEY] 45-50, any ethnicity woman. Self-made and straight-shooting, she sees a lot of herself in STAR, and is deeply disappointed by her eventual betrayal.

[MRS. JONES] 30-60, any ethnicity woman. Sweet, bubbly, and bored, MRS. JONES has achieved everything she’s ever wanted from life, and now feels stuck in place. STAR is her only amusement.
