The Northern Virginia Motion Picture Co-Op is casting a short film, “Custody” which will be shot in Virginia sometime in May. This will be a 2-day shoot paying $100-$150/day depending on the role and time commitment. The Co-Op is a non-profit arts collective based in Fredericksburg. We are currently casting the following roles:
Nick –(9). Loves baseball almost as much as his mother. Bonds with his grandfather over Pirate’s baseball and Willie Stargell.A boy with imagination and wonder mixed with a sense of innocence. This role is a for a Minor, and a parent must accompany them at all times. (2 Days)
Patty –(mid/late 30s), Nick’s mother.Italian American. Harried mother caught between loving her father and sheltering her child from a legacy of illegal activity. (2 Days)
Eugene –(late 60s/early 70s). Pattys father/Nick’s grandfather.Italian American, businessman with ties to organized crime.Teddy bear under a tough façade that breaks when he’s around his family. Was just sentenced to 7 years in federal prison and doesn’t know if he’ll live to see freedom again. But he must bear the thought of spending time away from family in his elder years. (1 Day)
Joe – (late 30s/early 40s), Nick’s father/Patty’s husband.A professional whoseeks to navigates the sensitivities of his wife’s disappointment while disassociating from Eugene, his father-in-law, especially after news of his sentencing. (1 Day)
Attorney – (late 30s/early 40s), Eugene’s lawyer. A shyster in a suit who knows his way around a bribe or two. Just lost his biggest client and tucks his tail between his legs when breaking the news to Patty. (1 Day)
Federal Marshal–(late 20s/early 30s). A mysterious suited man straight from the academy.Observes Eugene’s visit with his family and tries his best to avoid Eugene’s tender charm around his grandson. (1 Day)
